Whangarei District Council has identified three alternative locations which could replace the Whangārei Airport at Onerahi if it is no longer able to meet Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) rules and requirements at its current location in future.
The four options are:
- Ruatangata West
- Ruatangata
- One Tree Point West
- Continue to operate from Onerahi
The Whangarei Heads Citizen Association has organised a PUBLIC MEETING this WEDNESDAY 15th JUNE (7pm – 8pm) at the MCLEOD BAY HALL to provide local residents the opportunity to learn more about why Council is investigating alternative sites, each of the location options including maps of area and approach paths, to ask questions and provide feedback.
