the WHCAs’ purpose is to promote, sponsor and support any movements pertaining to the development of the Whangarei Heads District and the provision of civic, rural and social amenties therein.
what do we do ?
- we own and manage the McLeod Bay Hall – a great community asset
- we publish the “Whangarei Heads Newsletter” 6 times a year
- lobby the WDC by making submissions on
- roading,
- footpaths,
- waste disposal
- resource recovery
- Freedom camping
- the annual plan and long term plans
- other issues as they arise
- represent the community at meetings with Northport and the NZ Refinery
- support the development of the McLeod Bay Green (across from the fire station)
